Maker Guidelines

What belongs on the mercado.

  1. 01

    Handmade only

Every item you list must be made, grown, or substantially reworked by you. If you threw the pot, wove the textile, set the stone, or cut and sewed the garment — it belongs here. Mass-produced goods, dropshipped products, and resold factory items do not. If you're unsure whether your item qualifies, email us and we'll tell you honestly.

  2. 02

    Honest descriptions

Describe your work accurately. Note any flaws, repairs, or limitations — a cracked glaze, a replaced strap, a color that photographs differently than it looks in person. If an item is made-to-order, say so clearly and give an honest production timeline. Buyers who know what they're getting become repeat customers. Buyers who feel misled become bad reviews.

  3. 03

    Real photos

Photograph your actual work — the specific piece for sale, not a sample or a studio image of something similar. Stock photos are not allowed. AI-generated images of your work are not allowed. Natural light, a clean background, and a few angles go a long way. We're not asking for a professional shoot — we're asking for honesty.

  4. 04

    Fair pricing

Price however you want. We take zero percent — your price is your price. Price it to reflect the time, skill, and materials that went into the work. Don't race to the bottom; the buyers on this platform are here because they value handmade work and want to pay for it. Don't inflate prices either — this is a trust-based marketplace.

  5. 05

    Respond promptly

Buyers expect a reply within a day or two. Your average response time is visible on your public profile, so it matters for your reputation. You don't have to be glued to the app — but if you're going on a trip or taking a break, update your listings accordingly (mark them as paused or add a note in your profile).

  6. 06

    Complete transactions

Once both parties tap "I Confirm," that's an agreement. Honor it. Frequent cancellations — especially after confirmation — affect your standing on the platform and your ratings. If circumstances change and you genuinely can't fulfill a transaction, communicate early and honestly. Buyers will almost always be more understanding than you expect.

  7. 07

    Be a neighbor

This is a local marketplace. The person buying your earrings might sit next to you at Chocolate Maven next week. Treat every buyer like someone you might run into at the Farmers Market or on Canyon Road. Be the kind of seller you'd want to buy from. That's really it.
